What type of cable is required for computer programming of the BCD325P2? Does it use a USB mini or the type that the BCT15X uses?

Thanks in advance.

You will need to install the driver for the cable to work: Driver Install for the Uniden Bearcat | Scanner Master

Thanks for the link. I have a 325P2 on order and it should arrive tomorrow. I'm already putting together some programming via Freescan, and now that I know I need to install a driver, I shouldn't (hopefully) have any problems uploading everything to the scanner once it's in my hands.

The owner's manual doesn't provide much information about using quick keys. Here is a PDF file which will be very helpful:

Thanks!! It will definitely come in handy.

It's been a while since I've programmed a DMA scanner, via PC or manually, and I'm a little rusty at it, but I'm sure it will all come back to me.....I hope. LOL!! :D

To clarify. The cable is just a plain vanilla mini USB cable, but the scanner, itself, will require the USB driver. It's a very easy setup.

Consider purchasing the ProScan programming software. It is a first rate product and well supported here on RR. Initial install give you a 30-day trial.

ProScan has become my "go-to" for programming. Didn't really care for it at first, but it has "grown on me" and it the program I turn to before any others.

If you have any problems, you can attach your programming file(s) and we can check for errors.

So far, so good. I've done just a few systems so far, both trunked and conv, via PC and even gave a "small" trunked system a go manually. It worked, but PC programming is a must for any large systems. Too much knob twisting manually LOL.

I barely have the patience to manually enter a conventional channel!
I still have a few older scanners, like the BC 760 XLT, with no computer interface, but I mainly use them for frequency searching and aircraft.
