If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

So I just got a CS-750 earlier today, and I can't figure out how to get it programmed properly (via CPS). I'm trying to build a codeplug for scanning a Cap+ system (RX only mode) with 2 freqs and 2 TG's, but I can't figure out how to make it scan right. For some reason the radio hangs on a single slot/frequency (I think), and it won't continue scanning after the first transmission ends.

Can someone possibly give me a basic step-by-step overview of how to configure this properly?

Well I *think* I may have figured it out. I just realized this radio scans digital channels at 1/3 of a second/per channel, so with a 2-freq Cap+ or Con+ system there is up to 1 1/3 second delay when a call moves between slots or frequencies. Does anyone have any tips on maximizing scan speed for Cap+/Con+ monitoring?

p.s. This is a damn cool radio, I love the audio quality and tactile feel.

I also just bought one of these. My local school district uses Moto TRBO Capacity Plus. I have the correct frequencies, color code, and Time Slot. Where do I enter the Talk Group Numbers?

Also, how do I select the Monitor Mode? My understanding is that will monitor all traffic on the system.

First, Monitor Mode has limited utility because it does not currently work in scan mode! Rather, monitor mode only works when you're parked on a single frequency associated with a single time slot.

Second, in CPS (assuming you bought the $5 programming cable?) you have to input talkgroups under DMR Services/Contact; you then create an RX Group List associated with particular talkgroups. Under each digital channel, you then select a particular RX Group List. Does that make sense?
