Hi Stingray,
Do yourself a couple of favors.
1. Spend the $30.00 and buy Don Starr's WIN96 program. It will make programming the scanner so much easier.
2. Become a premium member here at RR. That will allow you to use the web download feature in WIN96 to use the web import feature and put what you need into the program and then load it to the scanner.
In the short term
1. Select the bank you want to program the system into and you press
<pgm>
2. type in the frequency you want to enter and press <enter> NOTE- You only need the frequencies listed in red and blue (the control channel frequencies).
3. press the <mode> key until you see MOT in the upper left hand corner of the display
4. press <pgm>, this will advance the channel number; type 1300.00 and press <enter> (this step puts a dummy spacer frequency between the trunk frequencies).
5. press <pgm> again and enter the next frequency from the list
6. repeat steps 2 through 5 until you have all of the control channels programmed.
7. press the <man> key to exit programming mode
8. press <pgm> and then the <trunk> keys. The display will read "Not trunked!" Press the mode key until Motorola apears.
9. while scanning that bank press <func> then press the <5> key, this will put the bank in "open mode" and all talk groups that the scanner receives will be heard by you. If there is one you like then you can press <enter> to store it.
Well, there you have it.
