male was caught prowling 2 streets from my house here in pasco county. i herd the arresting deputy say to disp he has a cell phone an i can here my self on it when i talk they were using the main disp channel 1 so keep putting apps on cell phones eventually we wont be able to enjoy our hobby just my opinion.

Well total encryption would suck and there seems to be a lot of what might be irritating mototrbo out there I can't listen to. But I guess as long as we keep our right to bear arms...my nine lives are pretty much up at this point with my bad luck. Self defense classes would be beneficial, too.

I agree about the apps being a huge factor in encryption, but I don't think it's a good idea to talk about specific events you heard that makes encryption appeal more. Lots of LEO and radio admins read this board and it just adds fuel to the fire.

But obviously the app didn't help much.
