Any idea who/what "CAR1" or "CAR2" is in Peel? I've heard them commanding things during a stabbing call tonight in Brampton...

Yeah that's what I thought (because CAR1 is the OPP's call sign for the chief) -- but then I realized that the chief probably wouldn't be working at 1:45 AM, and nor would he attend a minor stabbing.

IIRC, Peel Car 1 is the duty inspector on shift.

The Chief normally wouldnt pull over a car for speeding.. but he did

I thought chief as well.. but The explaination of the shift duty inspector seems right.

Yeah, Car 2 is the Chief, Car 1 is the DI as previously pointed out.
