So I definitely understand that PSP uses Starnet as a primary communication system. My questions are how much activity is on the conventional channels in the link above and are the comms encrypted or not?
I've had the opportunity to look at a STARNet PSP portable before, and I'm fairly certain the old conventional frequencies were not programmed into it at all. Maybe that's just true of the troop where this particular radio was issued, but I find it highly unlikely they're using them at all anymore. When they primarily operated on the analog channels pre-OpenSky, they did have user-selectable DES encryption on some channels, but the primary dispatch channels were in the clear.

The VHF frequencies were always a backup out of the Trevose Barracks near me when they were on open scam er sky. Car to car simplex was used everyday between troop cars. The base and mobile frequencies were also used regularly as there were many issues with Open Sky.

I still monitor those frequencies on all my radios and I haven't heard anything in a long time, not sure they even have the capability anymore in the Trevose, Bucks County area.

I still have hits several times a day on M-M PL186.2 and Tacs. 1 & 2 186.2. Most of the time it sounds like P25 conv., but every once in a while I hear something, a number or single word...

If PSP are using these frequencies every so often someone should do Broadcastify of the ones that are getting so some of us can hear it. Just an idea thanks
Mobile to mobile and the Tac channels were all simplex only, not repeated. It would be challenging to capture them over a wide area for Broadcastify. You'd only hear radio traffic relatively close to the receiver's location, but I suppose if they're still used heavily in your area, that might be useful to you.

When I worked in the Poconos we worked with State Police Fernridge and for the most part they didn't even use the portable radios when they were out on calls. They always went back to the mobile radios. We had few incidents where PCO was trying to reach trooper and they called us for welfare check. Trooper looks at the portable radio laughs and says it's off and tell her I'm fine. They use the MDT more then the radios it seems in some areas.

@0925L Units on 154.695 rptr with 155.850 input; a Triage unit is telling all officers to get out of the triage area. The 155.850 was the input for the Reading Troop L barracks on CH E. I'm hearing units on the input weak; rptr has a lot of static - hard tohear the locations they are giving out. Sounds like a major incident going on. RR database has nothing that matches up to the rptr/input pl 186.2.
Units are saying resources are stretched need more units to come back to the scene.
