Try entering the frequency in the tune function and see if you are able to hear it and see the decoded NAC displayed when the frequency is active.

Help me out here Dave, I was just monitoring a P25 Conv freq in Tune mode, it tells me it's Dg but doesn't show me that NAC, am I missing a setting?

You may also need to change the ADC cal function (funct expert) to make it work properly.

Thanks. I did not know about this function on my PSR 500. I don't often mess with the "extended settings" too often. Now, perhaps, I can figure out some of the tones associated with questionable conventional frequencies.

I never fooled with the extended setting either, but, I'm stuck with this one. I did change the setting Dave mentioned. I tried them all (Off RSSI ZM DSP) I can get it to show the HD5 on the right under the Freq, on the left all I keep getting is /FX I get no NAC and tried different freq's, if you figure it out let me know. Or maybe Dave will jump back in and add more info, the few brain cells I have left must not be working to their capacity. :D

Not sure it will work on all combinations. I only know that it works for the area I've used it in for NAC identification for unknown conventional P25 systems.

What are you guys using for "LCD BlinkOn"? I have "LCD BlinkOff" set at 200 and "LCD BlinkOn" at 30 and the NAC appears on the same line as the freq does for about 300 ms every 2 seconds. That is with the ADC Cal turned off.

I don't like the flashing back and forth so I have my settings as listed below:

LED Blink On 5 Off 50
LCD Blink On 1 Off 250

I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with Tune Mode. (pushing Tune Button and entering P25 Conventional Freq) it won't display the NAC, just that it's Dg where the Au is when the freq is active.

I sent a ticket to GRE to see if that is a feature the scanner has that I'm lost on setting up.

I apologize for getting way off track here with the tune mode, how are you making out? Have you had any luck getting those freq's to receive anything?

Yes, that is a draw back, but that's the only way I have found to display a NAC, PL, or DPL in tune mode.

I tried what you said (your right), it nows shows the NAC, PL, DPL, now I have to make up m mind if I can put up with the flashing back and forth to have that function or keep the display still on just what I want on the screen, and not have it, I appreciate your help on this. I also left the ADC Cal set to off. :)

To bad won't work both ways.

I know, It's kind of annoying, I guess I've gotten use to it. On a trunked control channel in tune mode it will also show the alias for the site if one is assigned. Glad I could help.

Carl, it depends on where u live to receive the new CFD digital...U did not say what scanner ur using?...I live SW of Chicago and need a outside antenna to get them...Things have changed in digital vs conv....They are NOT trunked but programmed as conv- channels labeled "digital only" on Uniden...
