Hey anyone that can help. I purchased a Pyramid Pyramid PS36KX Power Supply on an online auction. After a proper cleaning I applied power to the unit and instantly got an overload alarm, red light and the voltage meter pegged.
Unsure of the cause I was wondering if the supply can be repaired (if so what do I look for) or did I get a brick.

Thanks everyone in advance.

This looks like a linear supply which might be a little easier to service than a switching supply. Some things it might be are the pass transistors, the regulator circuit, or the rectifier diodes.

The factory manual has the schematic. It can be found here, just click on the "Manual Download" icon.

Pyramid - PS36KX - 32 Amp Adjustable Power Supply

I have one with the same issue, just haven't gotten around to repairing it. Figured I'd order up the big transistors and the rectifiers from Mouser. If you get it fixed, let us know what it was. Thanks.

Pyramid PS-36KX Linear Supply diagram issues

I see this thread it a couple years old but I thought I'd toss my 2c in. The actual PCB in my PS-36KX is NOT anything like all published diagrams... Even the physical construction is somewhat different. I'm curious if anyone else noted this? Perhaps someone has the 'correct' one. Above the fact the regulator PCB is different, they are using dual bridge rectifiers in a most unusual fashion. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I've gotten zero response from Pyramid proper.

Thanks in advance to anyone still monitoring this thread,
