question about 13.8 mhz

hey guys i work for a cable company and we have a problem with a carrier at 13.8 mhz. anyone know what would or could be transmitting at or around that freq. any help would be great thanks guys dan

I just did a google search and saw this: AG0113S RF Plasma Amplifier Generator 100 Watts RF Power at 13.56 MHz.

It's some kind of lab plasma power generator.

The ISM band that device operates in is from 13.553 to 13.567 MHz. 13.8 MHz is outside the ISM band, so it's likely to be something else. 13.8 MHz is within a chunk of spectrum allocated to broadcasting, among other things.

I just happened across some digital stuff on 13,830khz while listening in the car (Icom IC706 + hamstick). On AM it sounded like a random three tone generator but on USB it was clearly digital. The nearest building was a block away, nearest house (farm house) twice that, however I was parked right next to some power lines than ran along the biking path. As I drove away, sigs dropped from S9+ to gone. FWIW

I picked the one closest to me and yup, it's the power lines.
