WS1080: Question about scanning

so i am reading about scanning with the 1080 and from what i gather its a no no to have conventional frequencies and some talk groups (800 mhz) all in the same scanlist . is that correct ?

Where did you "gather" that? Both TGs and Frequencies are "assigned" to either none, one, or more than one TG.

Are you confusing the scanlist with the systems?

You cannot have talkgroups in a conventional (non-trunked) system. Nor can you enter conventional frequencies within a trunked system. However, a scanlist can have a number of systems. Some of them may be conventional, others trunked systems of various types. You can have different types of systems, all tied to the same scanlist.

I was told its easier for the scanner to pick up transmissions if your have all your talkgroups in one scanlist and all your conventional frequencies in another .
