I have all these for trunk frequencies which I think are the latest:

854.962500,856.437500,857.437500,858.437500,859.437500
857.937500,857.987500,858.712500,858.937500,858.987500
859.737500,859.987500,854.012500,856.037500,854.562500
855.012500

I have lost some of the talk groups for hartford though. Narcotics detectives being one of them. Am I missing something or did some get lost for everyone?

The freqs are correct in the database. The last change was to replace the 860.xxxx channels.

What do you mean you lost them? Are you saying they aren't using the same TGs? Are you saying there are TGs missing from the RR Database? Or are you saying that you have a problem with your scanner and they are gone?

Maybe they are not using them anymore.. I haven't heard talkgroup id 06-111 or 07-041 in a long time.. I found a few of the talkgroup ID's I didn't have so I put them in. Most of hartford is coming in on the scanner. Current ID that is in the database as surveillance I am getting medical on it.
I am wondering if the id's have changed?

Not that I know of but I don't monitor Hartford much due to reception issues. The TG you are referring to is 838, PD-MED and has been that for quite a while. There are several other errors it there so you best bet would be to use the search mode. For example, put in 784 for Fleet Call to hear when they simulcast over all the Patrol Fleet and not 764.
Some scanners have a neat thing with EDACS where you can enter a partial AFS ID and hear only those Agencies or Fleets. You need to program in AFS instead of decimal TGs but you can do a kind of Search and Scan operation. (Under AFS you would enter 06- and hear every TGID that started in 06-)

I have a psr 500.. I will have to see if I can do that. I wonder if the two groups I enjoyed listening to moved to another id.
I assume there is no other way to find out other than the database? I thought about doing a broad scan but there is so much stuff coming in, it's like finding a needle in a haystack ... Can you do a scan for ID's on a trunked system?

Yes, you need to read the manual that came with your scanner. It will have step by step instructions. http://www.grove-ent.com/PSR500Manual.pdf

There are quite a few different models out there so it's hard to say specifically how to do it on yours. That is a popular radio so someone may be able to help out. I am a Uniden fan...

You can create a group wildcard on the PSR500 to capture all the talkgroup activity. See the manual on how to do this.

From what I understand, they (vice) are no longer using that channel anymore, and have gone to Nextel (or a Nextel type device) for when they're doing their stings, for privacy reasons. I'm assuming it was because more of the bad guys were able to monitor their activities, and the Nextel talkgroup is more private. I also used to enjoy hearing the surveillance, and when they did the prostitution stings it was funny when they used to announce to the booking people at another location what act was offered and the price that was agreed upon. Good times! But I think the wave of the future is encryption or something like they are doing where it's only for law enforcements ears.
