• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I want to buy my dad a scanner for xmas and am curious about the differences and the frequencys that are used in the Pittsburgh PA market and if they are digitally trunked or analogue trunked. Can someone help me so I dont make the wrong purchase???
A little back ground - he has an old Bearcat scanner that required crystals in order to brink in the frequency of a township.
With all the technology that has evolved with them I am not sure what to get and I also don't want to over purchase something he will never use

Thank you

Please don't cop an attitude, if you would observe carefully, you would note that this topic was posted before the one linked above, so why didn't you reply to this one before replying to the other?
