I am new to programming a pro 96 and was wondering I have the pc interface cable 20 047 and I plug it in my radio and when i write my files from win 96 it does not get data from it? Am i missing something stupid or have I confused all? When I start up my radio it says clone mode and when i start downloading from win 96 nothing shows up any help

I would suggest checking what com port your 20-047 is using by going to the control panel/ administrative tools/ then computer management Check under the device manger then scroll down to the ports. Then set your com port in Win96 in the configuration menu then serial port to the same comm port.

i tried setting that port is said port3 and still nothiing any more ideas

Did you install the driver for the 20-047 that came on the CD? If you did then it still sounds like be a port communication problem. Do you get any error's? When you send to scanner do have the bar graph on the scanner and Win96? If not then there is of course no port communications.

let me try that again and see it is like if i dont hhok up the cabel to my 96 it still downloads so it does sound like some type of comm i tried it again i think its all in there now but wouldnt it give me a message and was im sending data from win 96 it says sending data on my radio does that mae sense

When you send data to your 96 there will be a bar graph on the radio and also a sub screen on win96 will pop up with a bar graph and will progress across till completed. When data transfer is completed the pop up on win96 will disappear and your 96 will prompt you to unplug your cable.
