255.550 MHz which satellite it could be in SEA?
Hello friends, I have sometimes monitored on 255.550 MHz here in Thailand broadcasting in unfamiliar language (may be in myanmar) whole day. Question is which satellite here will cover South East Asia region and who may override this downlink frequency 255.550 MHz? Thank you.forums.radioreference.com
266.950 is still going strong tonight here ....dial tone weird noises ...I was told it mightI had a listen to 266.950MHz this morning and didn't hear anything other than slightly raised noise floor indicating the output of a satellite transponder, maybe a different satellite.......
The satellite you are listening too is not likely not visible in Western Australia.
Likely the same satellite that I can hear, has a very large foot print.
266.950 and there abouts in 12.5 KHz channel spacing are inadvertent uplinks relayed from an old Soviet era mobile phone system. You will hear rotary dialing , ringing, voice. I don't thing the US has a concern as it is a plethora of Intel for US monitoring stations.266.950 is still going strong tonight here ....dial tone weird noises ...I was told it might
be a BBS ...bulletin board system maybe????,,73,s Marcy
If I remember. It has been sometime back now when I used to listen to those Sats. The 266MHz range used to have a number of what were like Russian Phone Type comms. You'd hear Russian voices and dial tones.I had a listen to 266.950MHz this morning and didn't hear anything other than slightly raised noise floor indicating the output of a satellite transponder, maybe a different satellite.......

My wife understands a few words of Russian, and a while back she heard me tuned in to such a conversation.266.950 and there abouts in 12.5 KHz channel spacing are inadvertent uplinks relayed from an old Soviet era mobile phone system. You will hear rotary dialing , ringing, voice.
