Radio Shack Date Codes

I searched for the article on Date Codes for RS Scanners, but didnt find anything.

Is it (MONTH)(Letter)(YEAR) or (YEAR)(Letter)(Month)?

Also does the letter have any significance---the ones I have seen are A's.

The letter is only a "placeholder." It has no meaning (originally, it was intended to have a meaning, but the schema was never implemented).
