I bought one about a year ago, it's a good antenna. I'm currently using it on my Pro-83, it's a definate improvement over the stock antenna on just about every handheld scanner I've used it with.

Just bought this one yesterday. Way better at pulling in distant freqs. Doesn't do anything better for 800 mhz trunking. Just switched back to my 800mhz GRE (from the RS one) on my Pro-95, and put the Deluxe RS one on my Pro-83, but if I want to listen to the next county up, I put the -034 back on my Pro-95; it seems to work better in the 150-160 range. And the GRE is working better than I first thought at picking up trunking in the 800 range.

I was also looking to try this out, but the guy at Radio Shack said that he used it on his scanner and didn't see much on an improvement with the reception.

I purchased one of these when they were first introduced about three or four years ago for $10.99. It’s a great antenna and offers excellent reception on VHF-Low, VHF-Hi and UHF. I did not notice any improvement in the 800 MHz band. Usually, I employ this antenna in concert with a high gain 800 duck on my trunking scanners.
