Hi I was wondering if anyone has owned or knows anything about the Radio Shack PRo-2039 scanner. I cannot find any reviews on this scanner. I have found sites that have reviews on RS scanners but nothing on the PRO-2039. It is like it never existed. Any feedback on the scanner would be greatly appreicated. Any comments on its VHF hi capable would be great too. Thank you.

I had a 2039. I think RS only sold them for about six months before they went on clearance. I got mine for about $50 if memory serves. It was an OK radio but it was double conversion and overloaded badly with an outdoor antenna. 800 mHz was almost unusable due to pager intermod and cell phone images. It also scanned very slowly. If you want to listen to local VHF/UHF signals with just the telescopic antenna and you can get it cheap, it's not bad, but there are a lot better scanners out there.
