Last December I bought a Radio Shack Pro 404, mostly for railroad scanning. Anyone else use it for this purpose? On the VHF High Band, it has frequency steps in 12.5 kHz, does that mean it will be compatible when the narrow band mandate goes into effect next year? It really helps me when listening to rail traffic when watching trains, and I really like it. What will the bandwidth for AAR channels be? Will it be 6.25, 7.5, or 12.5 kHz?

Any help would be appreciated.

Fortunately, GA
Pro-164, Pro-97, PSR-300, PSR-310. All will do the new steps for RR. As well as, any of the newer digital scanners.
