• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

    We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

I am having trouble getting the Baltimore City 800 system on my Radio Shack Pro-97 scanner. I tried search for the control channels and there is not traffic on them. I pick up Baltimore Counties 800 system no problem.

Does anyone know the correct 800 frequencies for Baltimore City Fire.

The frequencies in our database are correct as shown her.

Baltimore City Trunking System, Baltimore, Maryland - Scanner Frequencies

You cannot receive the city trunk on the PRO-97 - you have to use a digital scanner, and not many of those can handle the new system correctly. Only the PRO-96 or GRE PSR-800 seem to handle it with any degree of success.

As mentioned in another thread, there are 2 sources of information on this issue;

Programming the New Baltimore P25 System - The RadioReference Wiki

Please post your questions to the above thread. But the bottom line is the same - the 97 cannot do digital and certainly not the City system.
