Like myself, anyone who bought a PRO-106 for $299 at the beginning of this sale (I bought mine at a store), can get a credit. Don't know how returns/credits are handled from the website, but I went back to the store after calling the store and inquiring about a credit.

The manager wasn't aware that the latest reduction was web only (he found out rather quickly). But I told him that it would cost RS more money, since I would order another (online), and return his.

He made a phone call, and a few minutes later, I walked away with a $50 credit.

I don't remember seeing this before, but the PRO-106 price is Web-Only now... :(

And prices only valid until 12/11/2010, so get them while they are hot.

I bought a 106 also. They should have allowed us to buy in store at the $249 price but o-well.

See if they will order one for you at the store, you pay for it, then they give you one they have in stock, and when the one you ordered arrives they put it back in stock. My local store did this for me when I got my PRO164 awhile back, it was on sale "web only" at that time.

I think anyone who bought a 106 recently at $299 has a right to be p*ssed off. You end up feeling like you overpaid by $50, even though it was still a good deal. Other stores have price protection guarantees where you just go back with your receipt and you get the difference returned. But RS is making everyone jump through hoops.

Most companies protect themselves by waiting at least 30 days before dropping a price further.

It still shows "Web-only pricing - not available in stores at this price" on the web site.

They make it hard to see on the web page because it's in small print and light gray. I wish they would put it in red bold letters but then how are they going to bait you into coming into the store just to find out its web price only, LOL.

You know the old, while your here you might as well buy something or for $50 more you can walk out of the store with a Pro-106 in hand and not have to wait.:lol:

RS Scanners

stopped in a store today to pick up a 106, unaware that the price had dropped to 249.00 .Store did not have any .I was looking over his shoulder when he went to order 1 for me at 299.00 and seen the reduced price .I asked about the price and he informed me that it would still be 299.00 if he ordered it .Went home and ordered it myself. Had a 25.00 coupon that RS just sent me via e-mail thinking I could use it on this purchase but no luck .

Radio Shack no sale at San Bernardino location

GregFromOregon says "See if they will order it for you at the store"

I went to get one as well, did not know about the web only, even inquired about them ordering at the store location for me, nope was the reply, I had called the location on Wednesday 120810 nothing was mentioned about the price, other then it was a hot item and a good price so I had the salesman put my name on it for pick up Thursday 120910. I'm wondering are they still holding that scanner for me?.

They need better customer service, at Barnes & Noble they order the item even when they have the item in stock with no problems even at a lower price. This location has VERY BAD service. And I was close to getting the 197 at $299.99 during the last sale time, sometime good to wait and see, but at least where as I read another posting they did refund the difference. Ther sales posting can be misleadingm, should of stated web price and the store price as well.

As for there "In Stock" at store location, this is not always true, call before you go.

I ordered a pro-164 on black Friday and have been using it since, now seeing the pro 106 price I feel that it is now within my price range. Do any of you guys know if I can return my pro 164 to radio shack?

You can return scanners up to 30 days if you have a receipt.

I tried to use the coupon too. Called Radioshack about it when it wouldn't work and they said they are having problems with the coupon and have been getting tons of calls about it. Their system recognizes it for in store use only, even though the coupon says "in store and online". However, he pointed out that the fine print at the bottom says that it excludes online sales. He made no effort to try to help. He just kept reiterating that I could buy the radio in store using the coupon, but not at the web price.

I must have had the right guy helping me, his attitude was kinda like "well lets see if we can do it this way, nope, ok lets try this, ahh that works", just a very helpful guy.

Would everyone be mad if I said I bought my Pro-164 on RS.com on 11-26 for $100 ? :) Someone posted about it in the Pro-164 Yahoo Groups

Hmmmm, that's sort of an oxymoron, because if you don't have a Pro-164, why would you belong to the Group and how would you read the message? Oh wait, I didn't own a 164 yet I belonged to the group............ nerd alert! :D )

Ok, where was I ? Oh yeah, so I used much needed Christmas money and ordered it. How could I pass up a 50% off deal ? I remember paying almost $300 for my Pro-43, $150 for my 97 and now $100 for the 164. I wonder how long it'll take before they're free? :D

Now I just have to upgrade the firmware............
