Radio stations with the 296D

I programmed in some radio stations with my 296D here in Michigan. They don't come in very good. For example I have 88.7 programmed under conventional, with the FM setting and it is choppy and very off and on. Why can't this Hi Tech digital scanner recieve simple radio station frequencies??

Did you use WFM mode (for wide FM)? I tried locally and it worked OK. Same radio.

I tried both WFM and FM, same either way.

My reception was OK but not exceptional. Very location dependent. I suspect the antenna is not optimized for the FM broadcast band.

WFM is the correct mode for receiving FM radio stations.
