Radio Transmitter tower locations?

Is there a website or some reference point I can look at to pinpoint the location of the USCG/Maritime transmitter towers, I'm sure that the Welland Canal has some towers repeated since I pull their transmissions in so well, as well as channels 16 and 22's advisories.

I can hear the USCG on said channels.

But when people reach out to the USCG on 16, I hear the USCG, but not the vessel out on the water [as to be expected I guess]

Any ideas here?

The network is called Rescue21. Towers combine USCG channels and VHF DF on the top.

Look under the Rescue 21 website.

It shows the Remote Fixed Facility sites assigned to each Sector with coverage maps.

Remote Fixed Facilities were called high sites in the Legacy VHF Radio System. They are the remote antenna/transmitters used by the Coast Guard

Also Sectors can select one site or multiple ones to transmit on at once depending on the situation.
I have also heard some sites transmit more than one sector. Note also, these sites have VHF channels for USCG only use in the Federal VHF band.

Yes, it does require knowing where to look in the link I posted and then drilling down. Thanks for giving a more direct route.

The maps they provide are very useful, showing coverage for the requirement to hear a 1w signal a minimum of 20 nautical miles off shore.

Indeed, nicer maps than one are used to seeing. Wish they named the neared actual town. An earlier version did.

Sites shared between Sectors have all the standard channel lineup.

They sites are really only shared when they on border of two sector AORs

Also height of antenna varies a lot between sites. In my local Sector they vary from just over 200' to 600'.

Yes, really would not make sense for a site to broadcast 2 sites unless on/near the border of them. A site near here (King George in the map but actually located in Comorn) has transmitted both National Capital and Virginia. I have seen the varying heights--largely depends on the elevation of the tower base to get range. Some are quite far from the actual water to get height. Once you see one and the VHF DF on top and VHF communications on the antennas on the side, when traveling, one notices more without looking for them.

? Rescue21 sites do not transmit AIS and are not on those maps which will show a ships location..
Every one of the known Rescue 21 sites, I've looked for all have an MMSI and do show up via AIS

Here is one right down the street at the Rescue 21 (formerly known as High Sites) location

Receive is one thing but transmit another. The sites near me do not transmit.
