I’d recommend either. AM/FM/SSB
with integrated NRC is todays performance minimum.
Appearance as a function of appeal is main QT40 attribute.
Both have menus accessed by panel buttons.

QT60
I have the
Anytone AT5555-N2 which is the QT60 in all but name.
You’ll need to read operator manuals side-by-side to appreciate differences in controlling/modifying functions.
Dimensions may differ. QT40 doesn’t need a 4-pin mic adapter, but good luck finding anyone who agrees that dynamic mics sound better than the one provided. (I tested my usual dozen).
QT40 maybe looks less valuable (stealth aspect), but,
it’s not easier to operate than QT60 even though it has the Uniden 78 / Cobra 29 appearance.
I operate mine at speed. I’m on 27.185 almost constantly. I find the meter & readout to be what I want for info to tell me
about what I’m hearing, not just the somewhat better logic on how to control (opinion) vs QT40.
Most functions will be set before taking a drive after dialing in the rest of the rig. Some experience — including on-air feedback while at speed — tells one what’s wanted.
For example, I prefer NRC-RX at (3). NRC-TX at (1). They aren’t something I need to adjust while underway.
Same for
Mic Gain, same for most Menu functions.

Are the ones in use intermittently during the day. The last, least (maybe not at all days at a time). From pre-dawn to post-sunset.
That big display Auto-dims such that the daily 2X procedure of dim/bright is removed.
Every radio has a bit of a learning curve. Either of these fits the performance requirement (AM/FM/SSB w/ Integrated NRC), so $$ spent won’t much matter a few months from now.
