RARSFest 2011 Info Thread

Just a heads up that the 2011 RARSFest will be held
Saturday April 23, 2011 from 8am to around 4pm in the Jim Graham
Building at the State Fairgrounds in West Raleigh.

I am gonna do my absolute best to be in attendance this year
and I hope to see you all there as well.
We will be having a "Mini NC RR.com Member Meetup" at RARSFest
and will be using 146.535Mhz Simplex analog to coordinate meeting up.
Feel free to plug that frequency into your ham gear or scanner.

I am planning on being there when the doors open at 8am. I have only 2m analog capability for now. If we can get a simplex freq picked out beforehand I can have it ready to go.

The local club that started down my way a few years ago and fizzled out used 146.535 simplex when we traveled as a group somewhere.....

I had everything lined up and ready to go, but due to a problem with the finance company on my wife's car, we had to pay them over 700.00 at one time for a supposed past due payment that was paid before the due date to keep her car from getting repoed.

I was really ticked that I couldn't afford to go..

I havent been to a RARSFest in over 10 years. Benson always had a good one too....of well, maybe I will get to go to RARSFest in 2012....
