Does anyone really bother with this system much anymore since everything is enc on there? I left DSD+ on over the last day on the Hamilton Tower. I noticed Hamilton is not a neighbour with the Cambridge site. Is there still a site there or should it be removed? Another thing there are no RID's showing up as the source, every source is listed as "EXTERNAL".

Are you referring to the portable system used for deployments of special circumstances, it shows up in bc every once in a while.
I would imagine only ID's show at deployment

This on the regular 'O Division' P25 trunk out here in Ontario. So all the talkgroups I noticed when they are doing a group call, the RID has been showing up as an "EXTERNAL" for the RID, but when they are registering with the system on a particular talkgroup I do see the RID (usually in the 4xxxxxx). I am wondering if this has something to do with this as the Hamilton tower is still broadcasting the old EADS System ID/WACN info? RCMP System Switchover to Motorola

I'm here a lot
I did some Unitrunker monitoring today to see which sites around Toronto have switched to Motorola system 99B. The green and yellow updates are what I noticed. RCMP (O Division) Trunking System, Southern Ontario, Ontario

I see Mississauga, Airway Centre, and Milton are still on the Tait 36F system. I wonder if people in other areas could check if their areas have also gone Motorola.

Hamilton is still on 36F as well. I am watching it on DSD+ to see when it switches.

Rumor has it that the 99B system is going to be Phase II and Moto hardware. Basically a situation of 'If the province can have a shiny new systems then we can too!' IMO.

Rumor also has it to expect more sites to migrate over and to be on the lookout for newer unknown sites to popup in areas previously not having one.

I never knew that it was a Tait based P25 system. Always thought it was Motorola. And the Mississauga tower is still broadcasting the 36F ID

As of sometime today, it seems that Hamilton's 36F site is offline and nowhere to be found but no 99B site is around either.

I expect that sites 96 and 111 will update their neighbors list if not already done. It's safe to assume that as more sites transition to 99B that neighbor lists will be updating frequently.

I never got fancy with the public release. I have to familiarize myself with it some more and play with fmp instead of sdr# for it.

It's a shame the system is 100% encrypted. Still it may be worth logging TG even if the user/name is unknown.
