All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a Baofeng UV-5RA, VHF/UHF HT. The OS in my laptop is Win 10 Home 32bit The interface cable is working, Device manager is showing the interface cable on com 5. I can upload the radio's memory ch's Into Chirp. But I can't upload or see what is in the 2 VFO ch's. I can only see on Chirp what is in the radio memory ch's 0 to 128.
How do I make the radio upload what is programmed into VFO's to Chirp. Also this ht has 2 progable memory banks ch's 0 to 128 in each bank.. Chirp is only seeing memory bank 0. When I prog ether memory bank by hand the radio works fine

If its anything like the uv-5r, it won't upload vfo programming..I don't believe vfo programming is stored quite like your channel memory is.

That is possible about the VFO programming. But I do know that the UV-5RA has 2 sets of channel memory banks. On the ht there is a button to select memory bank (A) or (B) and I know this because when I got this ht (used, in good conduction) a few years back. Ch (A) memory bank was about half full of repeater and simplex frequencies. Bank (B) was filled with FRS frequencies ch's 1 to 22. I messed with the FRS frequencies a bit at home. I have a set of FRS ht's. I was in the hospital for a while and my nephew was playing with the ht without me knowing about it, or my ok. Some how he found setup menu #40 reset (restore everything to factory default settings). He put the ht back the the factory default settings, wiping out the memory. Now I have to reprogram the ht and Chrip only sees memory bank (A). I don't know how to reset Chrip to see memory bank (B).

If its anything like the uv-5r, it won't upload vfo programming..I don't believe vfo programming is stored quite like your channel memory is.
