Realistic pro 2005

I'm having problems receiving signals on any bands on my realistic pro 2005 I can only receive radio stations I had a pro 2006 with the screw in aerial on top and received loads of signals this one has only got telescopic aerial connected to back is it my aerial or something wrong with my radio scanner

A lot of radio systems are going digital. Are you sure what you want to monitor is still there?
You might check the 2 prongs inside the rear BNC connector. They can get bent outward and not make contact with the antenna pin.

I don't know where you are, but typically a test is to put in your local NOAA weather channel since it's on 24/7. This 2005 is new to you or was working and quit, or....? And I see you have 'uk' in your user name, so if you are in the UK, maybe you have something similar which is analog and always transmitting?

You probably live within range of at least one US National Weather Service "weather radio" transmitter site. Try these frequencies:


162.400MHz162.425MHz162.450MHz162.475MHz162.500MHz162.525MHz162.550MHz

check that the attenuation switch on the back is on the 0 and not the negative number.
if i have it right you would puch it to the outside of the radio
it is on the left on this picture.

Thanks for your help I've returned the scanner and bought myself a new handheld uniden ubc 125xlt hopefully this will be better for me
