Does anyone have the mod for the above scanner that tightens up the squelch. I did see it many years ago so I know it is out there, I just can't find it.

Need a little help, I once had instructions for my Pro 2020 to tighten the squelch control but now I can't find it. I was wondering if anyone would know how to do this or actually have the instructions for it. I have the schematics so that is no problem. I have Googled it and found everything...

I see that I already did the mod, lol. I guess I thought at the time that it did tighten it up but now that I have taken the radio out of hibernation and used it I was thinking the squelch was too open. Oh well it is an old radio but still useful. I probably should have left it in the closet.There is a link to the modification in this thread that you started back in 2021.

These old GRE scanners are good performers and fun to play around with. My 2002's squelch is problematic, especially after the radio hasn't been used for a while. It gets better with use, so oxidation is likely part of the problem.

i see i posted that 4 years ago too.
and another thing is that resistors open a bit with age.
maybe try a new one ?!
