Rebanding

Has the Los Angeles City of (Municipal Services) that is using the Edacs Network Standard (wide) been rebanded? I am coming to LA this month and was just curious if this has happened. Thanks for the info asked.

While I don't listen to that system, no 800 MHz rebanding has taken place in Southern California due to issues coordinating with Mexico.

n6ciz is correct. The State Department, not the FCC is charged with negotiating the treaty with Mexico to recognize the assignment changes within the 800 SMR/NPSPAC band. Right now their little drug war is a higher priority however per some folks in the know have stated that it is on the agenda of things to discuss. Until then, those of us involved in rebanding are sitting on our hands until the flood gates open. Currently Northern California is in progress not only with rebanding but also repacking in some areas to gain additional usable spectrum when geographically spaced out properly.
