The first violation is interesting because they merely had a GMRS programmed into the equipment.

Nothing was mentioned about that business transmitting on that frequency.

Being you are not a local you wouldn't know that Holtzberg Comm is a FCC problem child. Recently they were caught selling non-type accepted radios to Public Safety services. I suspect the FCC were just busting balls about the GMRS freq, which does require a license. The section quote specifically prohibits the PROGRAMMING of frequencies not licensed to the individual or agency not transmitting. Their license isn't for GMRS but for business channels only in the state of New Jersey. Even if they had their own frequencies programmed in they would still be in violation for operating out of their license area.

Looking at all these violations I guess it's budget time for the FCC, such nonsense. I wonder who the real complaintants were or did the FCC just make them up. I doubt that any of the supposed interference complaints even existed, not using your call sign isn't going to clear a problem, it will just mean even more radio traffic if it were me, and the digital, after I get the digital mask on my license I would key my radio as long as possible to piss off the ones who complained. All of these violations are not going to eliminate a valid licensed users interference from the channel, except maybe Holtzberg.

In Hillsborough that's a relay for a satellite receiver for the old fire repeater. It's been transmitting continuously for years, along with several others. One of the channels they were originally licensed for interfered with the input to the Bridgewater-Raritan school district's bus repeater, which generated an FCC warning like this a few years ago and prompted a change in frequencies.

When I checked a few months ago I was surprised that the relays were still in use since the fire companies switched to the county's trunked system and a nearby town apparently took over the VHF repeater channel for their own use (haven't studied licenses for that effort).

So, yeah, I wonder who complained about it, maybe a muckraker or a new licensee on that UHF frequency?

It would be nice if Atlantic Highlands goes back to analog so you can hear what is going on or if they want to stay digital have it in a band and frequency that can be listened to on a digital scanner. If I were living in Atlantic Highlands instead of being in the next town over I'd be complaining that I could not hear them. The citizens should be able to listen in and make sure that they are not spending all their time in the donut shop.

The citizens should be able to listen in? Monitoring is a privilege, not a right. A complaint to a police department about not being able to monitor their transmissions would be laughed at.

Hmmm... Regarding Andy Holzberg's FB6 and MOI system, Allentown is a little far from the Winston Towers. In fact, if he leased to the Allentown Sheraton and they were on the itinerant channels, they'd still be in violation. They're authorized for itinerant operation in NJ only.
