I've had my Bearcat BC 700A put up for a while and was thinking about putting it up outside and was wondering what antenna you guys would recommend to use with it.

I would like to receive all of the frequencies the scanner is capable of receiving on automatic scan. It will receive 30 mHz, commercial airliners, local sheriff (155.085), fire and rescue, weather reports, and 800 mHz.

I was only asking what most are using with a BC 700A. It's not like I don't know how to do research. It was only a general consensus I was looking for. I've got a Discone D130NJ now and was wanting to know if there was an antenna that may do a better job.

Thanks for the input.

Your research has hopefully let you know that antennas are not scanner-specific, and you can use a very wide range of different antennas with the BC 700A. There is not a specific "best antenna" for the BC 700A. Many general consensus discussions around different antennas are more likely to be found in the Scanner / Receiver Antennas forum.... all of which will work with the BC 700A. The Antennacraft ST2 is a "general consensus" popular antenna for all of the frequencies the BC 700A is capable of receiving.

Any antenna will receive every frequency, it us a matter of how well. That is why knowing what frequencies you are actually going to be listening to is important.

For instance, if you are wanting low band and 800 MHz, then two antennas with a combiner might be useful.
