We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Anybody know if one can record audio from a Uniden to an iPhone using a TRRS adapter. It's my understanding the iPhone requires a different type of TRRS adapter for a powered mic vs. non-powered. If it is possible to use the headset output on the Uniden as a mic going into the iPhone, then any ideas as to whether it would emulate a powered mic or not?

I've gone from a cable box (RCA connectors) to a TRRS adapter to my iPhone. It worked just fine and should be similar to what you're trying to accomplish. The only thing is that I used a Line Level TRRS adapter, not a Mic Level one. That may be what you're referring to.
