if it gets better reception than the Grundig (Eton?) Satellite 800 and is half the price, i would get one.

This radio is supposed to be alot alike the RP2100, no? what link do you have for the RP3000?

I like the RP2100, so I'll really be interested in this one when it is available.

I just got an RP-2100. Mine really kicks ass. It is great on all bands and superlative on MW. Nice bassy, hi-fi audio. I got it via tquchina on Ebay, who shipped within 24H with a polite email providing a tracking #. Emails were answered within a day. I asked him about the RP3000 and he thinks it won't be coming around 'till mid-2007.

I ordered mine on Oct. 27th and got it on Nov. 6th; tquchina doesn't mess around-sent it Express Mail insured.

I like the 2100 so much I ordered another, and now there is a plug-in SSB adapter available. http://stores.ebay.com/RADIO-AND-COMPONENT_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm is his link.

Controls on the 2100 are placed well, are big enough for Mr. Fat Fingers here, are smooth and linear. Gone is the RF gain control complaint from the S-350. Sensitivity on the whip is really good; makes me think my E1 might be broken, with its useless whip sensitivity.

In all other respects, I agree with the radiointel review. http://www.radiointel.com/review-redsunrp2100.htm

The only downer which will bother some is that as I tune, I hear a 'plink' as the encoder changes frequencies. But the audio is so nice to my ears that this is a radio I will listen on, rather than spinning the dial.

Lack of SSB is not a concern for me as my unit will be used for program listening on the nightstand. Not to mention also that in person, this is a really nice looking radio.

This spells retirement for the S-350 which just became a Christmas gift for a family member who has no good AM radio at all.

Thanks for the tip on the SSB adapter. I didn't think it was available yet.

My BCL2000 (S350) is a little more sensitive on the MW band, how did yours compare?
