Regency HX 650 Scanner

I have had this scanner that was my grandfathers and was hoping I could get it going. I have no info nor know anything about these types of scanners other than it uses crystals. Anyone with any info will be greatly appreciated.
The scanner is a Regency HX 650 Scanner
I also have know idea how to choose crystals or where to get them.
I would like to monitor

What does RCD-1, BCT, and P77-AH stand for?
How do I choose crystals for my area? Just match Freq.? Where to get crystals?
Any insite on this is appreciated.

Those letter codes are the manufacturer's ID. There are many crystals available on ebay. There are two types of crystals, 10.7 IF and 10.8 IF. The regency uses a 10.7 IF crystal.

I have purchased from gcomradio and they have a large selection. I checked their ebay page and they do have 154.845 and 155.760 available.

You can just choose the frequency you want however crystal scanners may not receive the new narrow band frequencies.

Also crystal scanners don't use PL/DPL.

You should receive the narrow band channels, but they may be weak, and you may also receive bleed over from any adjacent narrow band frequencies. You will just have to try them and see what happens.

I just checked my "bone pile" of crystals...I have 2 Ops 5 and 1 Tac 8 crystals. I'll PM you with my contact info. I think I have a crystal scanner laying around here that may have some of the others in it, I'll look. As I recall, when I tried the 159.165 NPD crystal it was very weak and garbled; must have been outside it's receive range. I considered getting a crystal for the 155.010 repeater input but decided not to mess with it. Same may be true for Ops 4.

He has 3 of the 6 you are looking for. On the page linked above scroll down to the Search Store box and type in the freq you are looking for. Only include 4 places after the decimal point.... like: 154.7550 so drop the last zero from the freq's you posted.

My Regency and Bearcat crystals are TESTED with a crystal tester to make sure tht they are working.I am asking $5.00 per crystal and will send them out with a self addrssed stampted envelope.Why buy from someone on e-bay that you do not know? I have sold a lot of crystals to other members.I am very aware of the Regency Hx-650 scanner.I used to own one.If anyone needs crystals please check with me first.I have vhf low,high,UHF crystals for both Regency and Bearcat.
