Just noticed that Remsa moved their dispatch channel to Med 9. They used to use Med 10. Don't know if this has been mentioned before but I just started listening to them again after not listening for a few months.

Med 9 is the Main Dispatch channel - Med 10 is overflow extended/follow-up type stuff.

Dose careflight use a specific channel? Do the pilots use these channels or just the inflight nurses? I personaly don't like to monitor these channels. The first time I did, I heard the ambulance bringing in a woman who was loosing her baby. As a father it just killed me to hear that.

Care flight used to use their own channels. They would get paged out on the dispatch channel and then go in service on seperate channels, however i don't know if that's the case anymore since the dispatch channel came. I'd just program all 10 med channels in and listen. I know for a fact that Med 8 is for the ambus talking to washoe med.

Does Remsa run for truckee, incline, the rest of tahoe (in NV), carson, and fernley? If so, do they dispatch off different channels from different repeaters?

Yes care flight does
Care Flight is based out of Truckee and Gardnerville as well. (maybe Fallon?) When we dispatch Careflight our dispatch calls REMSA who calls them out. When they get in the area they switch to our frequency for PT and LZ info.

REMSA proper is only in Washoe County (except for Incline Village) and I believe extends into CA slightly up 395 on a contract basis

Unless they have changed it Careflight will respond to anywhere within a 150 mile radius of their bases in Reno, Truckee, and either Gardnerville or Minden - can't remember for sure which - Joe

When you talk to them do they always use the same freq? What frequency do you use to talk to them?

Careflight Douglas County is based out of Carson Valley Medical Center in Gardnervile.

I am a volunteer with East Fork Fire District and as such I talk to CF on East Fork repeater. If care flight was landing in Carson City they would use CCFD or CCSO depending on who was in charge of the LZ. Same for Lyon or Storey county. CF has the ability to communicate with all the agencies that it services.

I once heard RFD dispatch tell the fire crews to contact care flight on virginia peak repeater, but I didn't know what freq that was.

Calstar has a helicopter based at South Lake Tahoe that comes into Douglas Co. and vicinity when Careflight is not available. They will also use the local agency freq. for coordination. Heard them last Sunday called to the Douglas Co. fairgrounds.

It's 03-031, or-032, or 03-033 on the WCRS system. I can't remember which. All 3 of those TG's are simulcasts for TM Main off Peavine, Virginia Peak, Slide. The traffic is not simulcast across all 3 sites though so traffic on the Virginia Peak TG will not be audible on the Slide TG for example.

Yeah if you prefer to only keep the trunked system in your scanner you can just program in the TGID's. Departments that get paged out on those ID's include but are not limited to the following:

Cold Springs
Lemmon Valley (spelling?)
Washoe Valley
Pleasant Valley
Hidden Valley
Wadsworth
Sutcliffe (spelling?)
Nixon
Verdi
Peavine
Palamino Valley
Galena

Any brush fires that are not in the inner city are moved over to a TM repeater for their operations also so it's a good ID to have in your radio, especially in the summer it gets pretty busy.
