• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

What's to check? What is news? Bush's war chest was approved through FY 2009 so here we go with another media troll and GL baiting the hooks. Cummon guy, do you have to be the RR star link bot just to raise your post count or what?

What's new?

After the million dollar toilet seat at NASA, all the pork barrel spending projects each senator adds for their district, the bribes they take, what they can each steal on top of that, what's a few billion more unchecked on military spending?

It's just OUR tax money, right? We keep electing these same people over & over again? Who's fault IS that?

Too bad the Veterans aren't getting any of it though!

You know posts in the Wasteland don't count, so what's your point?

Bush has nothing to do with this! Sounds like it is you who is trolling with hooks!

So the budget was approved, that doesn't mean it's being spent properly. We still have our guys over their putting their lives on the line without the proper equipment, and armor. While the funds are being skimmed for who knows what.

Instead of jumping all over other people's posts, why don't you try to post something news worthy yourself?

I love it how people blame Bush for everything! They think if "Under Sniper Fire" Clinton or Obama gets in office that they will save the world. - I don't see that happening.

Really? Well forget this place then! I'm outta here!

Hmmm... when was the last time you were in Iraq?

But yeah, there is plenty of skimming going on, that's for sure. But more than that is the simple problem of the unwieldy government bureaucracy it takes just to order and receive a simple box of pencils. That's not really skimming. That's just typical inefficiency.

The cost of this war is, of course, overstated. Previous wars were carried out almost entirely by a standing military, reducing costs. But thanks to years of Democratic slash and burn of the military, the military is now incapable of self-sufficient mobility. Consequently, when we go to war, we have to contract out billions of dollars of work just to have the cooks, carpenters, engineers, truck drivers, electricians, plumbers, warehousemen, janitors, and skilled labourers necessary to sustain the troops in battle. Yeah, it is damn expensive. But considering the money saved by not keeping all those temporarily needed persons on the payroll through the peace years, it's a savings that makes good financial sense.

Troops are actually winning the war.

Definately think our nation is in for much harder times. Since our economy is so directly tied to the price of oil, our standard of living is going to continue to decline as oil goes up.

I really think this report by the IG is nothing more than posturizing and budget protection. Yet another fifedom in the federal government that wants more money and more people. Every office in the government has to do the same thing, or they get cut.

The American press is failing to report that our troops are actually winning the war in Iraq. Suicide bombings are down 90% and Al Queda is reporting on their own web sites the reasons why they have lost the war in Iraq, saying their collapse was steep and catastrophic. They claimed that they were responsible for 60% of the attacks on Americans in 2006 with their Sunni Arab allies doing the rest to try to scare the US out of the country. Essentially they killed too many moslem civilians in their attacks on American troops. Then they lost the support of even their Sunni Arab allies. It's ok to kill infidels as long as there is no collateral damage to moslems. Al Queda leaders outside Iraq tried to warn their out of control lieutenants in Iraq to cool it as early as 2004, but they didn't listen. This was all reported May 27 in For Your Eyes Only (FYEO Express), a daily military sit rep from strategypage.com. You won't hear this reported by the mainstream Bush hating media, because they don't want to admit that his "stay the course" strategy has actually paid off and our troops are really making headway in the country.

They might take those away too. It is easier to spot dissenters that cannot bite their tounge  and they dont want anyone biting each other. It will be safer and more fair that way:D
