Reset to factory

If i do a factory reset will I lose the DMR upgrade that I had installed?

There is nothing that the end user can do, in the normal operation of the scanner (including a reset or replacing the sd card), that would delete the paid upgrades... no matter who installed them.

I had a problem earlier where I locked out all the preprogrammed services like weather, FM and etc. I've read the manuals about 100 times and can't grasp how to get them back. When I push func. 0wx nothing happens. Not that it's a big deal.

You might try going to each locked bank manually and try hitting the L/O button in quick double succession again to bring them back. Usually one quick L/O press locks them out temporarily until the unit is power up again. Two quick clicks locks them out permanently until you manually deactivate the lockout. You might have to manually unlocked them by trying to go to the back and hit the L/O button twice again in quick session. Possible with each frequency in the bank.

It's a little early before my coffee for my brain to function correctly. This is how I got thing working again on the SDS radios. All the usual YMMV disclaimer apply.

Also, if you have a Sentinel version for your radio, you might be able to read the radio into Sentinel, undo all the locks, and then rewrite Sentinel minus the locks back into the radio.

There is only a version of Sentinel for the HP1 and HP2...
And a different version for the BCDX36HP's and SDS's...

The BCD325P2 has to use third party software...

What do you mean.... nothing happened? Do you mean that the factory reset didn't happen at all? What reset procedure did you use?

I did the reset with no problem and re-uploaded my systems but the reset didn't resolve the problem, maybe it isn't a problem and I'm doing something wrong.

Are you using software to do your programming? If the lockouts were stored in the software programming, re-uploading would put the lockouts back into the scanner after the reset.

Using ProScan, everything seems ok when uploading. Did the upload with it after reset. I was using FreeScan but it gave me an error about not able to complete the entire upload , it an error referencing the Wx.

i don't do quick keys, and i have a feeling that the radio was setup at some point for F+0 for the weather and when you reset it it was gone.
my 325 does not do anything with F+0.
HOLD,F,0 turns on the weather priority.

A lot of folks get over ambitious with quick keys, and I've also seen some foul-ups using quick keys without first learning their implications. Not saying that this is the case, but also worth a look.

it does have the little WX on the zero button...
from the manual
Press Func then press and hold 0(wx) to enter Weather Scan mode in Any Mode except GPS.
