has anyone used this site/search engine?
is it worth the subscription?
does anyone know if the results come back in a format that can be loaded into a radio? or is it just the freq's
and you still need to put them in manually?

i know one could do this manually, but if ya' travel a lot this could cut the research time down substantially.

thanks much

I use RepeaterBook.com and they have an app for your phone and it uses GPS. So, if you put in a radius let say 25 miles, yeah you get a list of all the repeater services and bands you have selected in the settings within a 25 mile radius of your location.
Oh, did I say FREE!!?? Yeah I meant to say FREE!!! Wait, let me make sure I said FREE!!! Yup, I said FREE...
Can you tell I like to say FREE??
I like FREE cuz I put my 2 cents out there a lot and I'm broke...

thank you for this!
you know, cuz i like FREE ALSO!

i went and poked around the RB book app a bit. i think i see what youre referencing. but i dont think it's the same...is it?
it will only search around where you are at the moment. i'm looking for something that will tell me all the repeaters i'll be near when i drive through southern colorado this week then southern kalifornia next.

i'm open to correction, i'm a brand new ham so i'm still learning about all the resources available out there and how they work.

thanks for your .02, if we ever meet i'm gettin' ya' a .05 cup'o joe.

Ok so you want up to 500 miles radius?? Sure it'll do that for ya.. It will also tell you the direction from you the listing you are looking at is... Oh and how many miles it is from you too... As you are moving...
Oh and let me tell ya what... Have a zip code? Do a search with said zip code and it will come back with all the repeaters (services and bands selected in settings) in that zip code... Can search cities too... Just did it!!!
But no... It does not have the kitchen sink installed... or a beer tap :(...
I am not sure tho.. did I say it is FREE??!!
And IF you had a select Yaeusu or Icom radio, this software can tune your radio via touching it on your phones screen through bluetooth... Amazing...
And it is FREE!!!
Just have ta download this on your phone and give it a whirl...

I have it on my phone but I seldom use it. I usually travel alone and programming the Yaesu FT-8900 isn't possible while driving. I research ahead of time and program the information before I leave.

Static Discharge: How much is the program? :)

thank you again, but no, the radius option doesnt work for what i want.
if i'm driving phoenix to durango, i could put in a 500 mis radius, but i dont want the repeaters for tucson and san diego and vegas.

RF Finder allows you, i believe, to put in a route, waypoints and how far off the route you want to search to locate repeaters. i.e. phoenix-payson-hollbrook-durango-ouray, 25 mis either side of route.

it's $1/month. if this works they way i hope it does i think i can afford a $1/month.
