Does Richmond, Henrico, Hanover & Chesterfield have any conventional fire dispatch or pd frequencies? I don't see any in the database. Thanks.

No, not really.

Fire and Rescue for Chesterfield and Henrico may still be heard on their old analog frequencies but just for the tones and dispatch information.

Richmond EMS still operates on UHF analog, dispatch of 453.975 MHz. (Also heard on REMS1 via Richmnd ASTRO system.) They are using Nextel phones in each ambulance as well.

Here's the information that I had from a while back. Are any of these still of any use? Do you know if there are any others out there? Man, I need a digital scanner :( , but I'm not in digital areas that often. I have a Pro-95 & BC780, but from my understanding everything there's digital? Oh yeah- I have a good VSP list, but I'm looking for any city/countywide frequencies. I know I'm probably SOL hoping there's anything analog  Anyway, here's what I have:

Thanks
Todd

Fire/Rescue rebroadcast in Richmond area

RICHMOND FD 153.77000

CH-FIELD F&R 46.46000

CH-FIELD F&R 154.16000

HANOVER F&R 158.76000

HENRICO F&R 155.23500

CHSTRFLD RSQ 155.26500

CHSTERFLD FD 154.16000

Richmond FD is all on the trunk system. EMS still has some UHF frequencies as well as VHF Hears and statewide.

453.975 Richmond EMS 1
460.925 Richmond EMS 2
453.025 Richmond EMS admin

155.205 Statewide EMS
155.340 HEAR
155.400 HEAR

Chesterfield EMS is still rebroadcast on 155.265 and Chesterfield FD is still rebroadcast on 154.160 but all of the low band is gone. Chesterfield FD still uses 153.965 to talk to MedFlight. Their rolling stock has a VHF High radio with this in it.

Hanover, I think, is still rebroadcasting on 158.760. Henrico FD is all on the trunk system, but I think they retain 154.295 for HazMat and mutual aid. I'd like to have this confirmed. Henrico EMS is still rebroadcast on 155.235 and 155.175.

Hope this helps and if anyone can check these to make sure I've got them right, I'd appreciate it.

John, good info, but a clarification on a couple of things:

1. The CFEMS (their offical name now) freq of 153.965 is always patched into the Tac that the incident is being carried on. Therefore, if you hear an air ambulance going to Chesterfield, switch to this VHF freq to hear the traffic on the Tac.

2. Henrico has pretty much scaled back to only using 155.235 for fire & EMS simulcast. Many of our rigs still have the OLD /\/\otorola VHF handhelds in them, which do have the 154.295 freq in them, along with our old F1, F2, F3 channels (ah, the memories). Anyhoo, the newer rigs are coming with /\/\otorola CDM1250's in them, which are programmed with the dispatch freq's for the mutual aid departments, NOAA weather, statewide fire, statewide EMS, etc. I'll see if I can get a run down of everything we have in them.

As a side note, the simulcast patch to 155.235 must be disabled when the air ambulance comes in to Henrico. Having this patch up makes it difficult for the ground units to talk with the helo.

Hope this helps...

In the "realm" of Chesterfield, but slightly off center-topic here, don't delete the old Colonial Heights Police freq (453.950). I copied a weather broadcast here just before the last hurricane arrived. It was of short duration and was strictly a broadcast, no 2way interchanges were heard.
In the same vein, Colonial Heights Fire and Rescue still simulcast on the old VHF freq (154.325). This particular agency was also recently heard on their 800 conventional freq, though I am uncertain if this is a continuous simulcast or not. If you are close enoughto try, I seem to remember being able to copy them on 855.7375, but this may not be accurate.
Similarly, the old Hopewell PD VHF conventional repeater is still "alive" at 158.775 and their dispatch center has the capability to patch to it. The communications center doesn't customarily monitor this channel, and will rarely answer a call placed to them on it (don't ask). Check the old VHF fire channel on 154.250, as this has been heard in use as a patch in times past (e.g.-when the old A+P burned on Main St.) though locally, bleedover from Sussex Fire/Rescue on 154.245 makes this a noisy freq.
And the million dollar question is whether or not Chesterfield maintains the old VHF RIVER repeater...but I guess that's been asked before.

cheers

Motorhead, I'm not sure of what the RIVER repeater is, Tho I have an idea that it may be the old covert/undercover group. Henrico's SAF would say " go to the deck " or " go to the river " meaning go to repeater talk around. Course, I could be way off base ...

River defined

was an old Chesterfield PD VHF repeater 154.875. It wasn't a talk-around, though the Ditch, the Deck, and/or the Swamp may have been. I seem to remember some of the other "topographic" frequencies being simplex....

On the henrico topic, does anyone know the frequencies for Tuckahoe rescue squad (and Henrico RS & Lakeside for that matter)? I know Tuckahoe has their own tac channels (F1 & F2) and from listening, F1 sounds like a simulcast of henrico F/R D-1. From riding on their units, I noticed that most of their unit-base conversation is on F2, but have not been able to find the frequency...

You're gonna LOVE this...

Lakeside Rescue uses 154.600 [88.5]--same as the input for several McDonalds drive-thrus in their district. Their old dispatch freq was 155.175 [88.5]. And yes--they are operating their full flamethrowers on 154.600!

Tuckahoe Rescue uses 151.745 [107.2] Their old dispatch freq was 155.235 [107.2]

Henrico Rescue may be on 160.11, but I have not confirmed it. PL would probably be 114.8. Their original dispatch freq was 155.22 [114.8]

West End Rescue has no auxiliary freq that I know of. Their dispatch is or was 155.205 [186.2]. At one time, some hams on the squad were using 145.205 to chat.
