Based on the video they were talking with PD dispatch; while its possible they have dedicated talkgroups, I'd suspect RVAC will be operating on FRES and MEDCOM channels.

I just enabled the 700mhz. site for the Suffolk P25 system which I haven't enabled for a couple of months due to no previous activity. Coincidence or not, I just heard talkgroup 10301 with voice on the 700Mhz. site several times, which is Riverhead FD 1. I wonder if the 700mhz. site has been active at all before this. Maybe the Riverhead Vol. Amb. the OP is asking about use the FD talkgroup? I am going to put the 700mhz site 3 in my G5 so I can monitor it at the same time as the 800 Site 4 and see what is going on.

On p25 system, on site 3,
10301 Riverhead 1 is 6th div fire depts
10303 Riverhead 2 is Riverhead amb and Northwell fly cars (Willie units)

Site 3 has been testing on and off so not too much missed on site 3.
@pro106import I have been doing that for the last few months. I have not seen anything showing on site 3 and 4 at the same time. Have not seen any TDMA on site 4, just site 3.

Yes just heard 10303 also. So do you think this is where the Vol. Amb. the orrig. poster was looking for? I did not hear them on the 800 site at the same time. Looks like they are only affiliating on the 700 site so far.

The info I posted was from another site and its pretty new info. I do not know any of RVAC radio identifiers so I cant confirm its actually them. I do know the willie units are something with Northwell out east. I do have DSDPlus watching that site and review recordings at night.

Yeah the willie units are tg 30001 (Northwell) and I have seen only 1 grant from 1 of them on tg 30003 so I would guess that's theirs as well.
Northwell Ems had a tg of 304201 on the Onevoice system. I have not listened to OneVoice in a long time but wonder if they are one in the same. They were E on Onevoice.

Yes they are still E on Onevoice. I always thought it was Northwell out of NJ. Boy they talk a lot on OneVoice.

northwell is full E on oneVoice and it is their primary comms for all activity including Helo’s, and ambulances. They’re also in Connecticut too.

I think that the 700mhz and 800mhz systems should be separated into two systems on RRDB. Right now the DB alludes that you can monitor all of those TGs from either “site” but in reality, PD is only heard on 800 and FD’s are on 700.

That is not going to happen. It's physically one system regardless of which talkgroups are active at a given site.

Submit an update to the RRDB if you need clarification.
I have no problem adding a note to the FD Categories that say something along the lines of "In order to listen to these talk groups, you must monitor the 700 Layer" and for PD "To listen to these talk groups, you must monitor the 800 Layer"

Submit the changes to the RRDB and I'll work the submissions. As a reminder, GTR8000 and I do not comb the forums for DB information. Its up to you to submit what you find, just like we submit our own info and work them the same way.

But as stated above, this is 1 system and needs to be in the DB as 1 system.

If you need it, here is the link to submit updates for the Suffolk P25 system: Submit Data to RadioReference

Northwell does not operate ambulances in CT, at least not up in the New Haven County and Bridgeport area that I know of. The helo does operate between LI and CT when they are doing transfers to and from Yale-New Haven (and affiliated hospitals). When Lifestar isn't available, I have heard the Northwell helo get checked on for availability.

Does anyone know the plan for this system? Will it be operating in phase-II? Or will they keep it in Phase-I mode?

They have a considerable amount of XTS/XTL equipment that can still be utilized on the new system provided that they continue operating in phase-I.

I remember reading their original plans in 2014-2015 where it listed each department and whether “replace” or “reflash” was required. Most of their p25 equipment was “RB” models which were analog only (from rebanding in 2010) and would require reflashing.

Do you mean the Suffolk P25 system? From my direct observation and from people who I know that use the new system, there is a mix of XTS/XTL and APX radios on the system. From what I've seen there is almost no Phase 2 in use on the new P25 system (other then initial testing). A contact I have in Smithtown Public Safety has and is using a county issued APX8000.

All phase-II systems are built out in phase-I first. Then the final tweaks (TDMA, encryption, etc) are rolled out via OTAP). So hard to say just yet whether they’ll keep the system in phase-I or not
