Large fire hwy 243 and 74 just west of lake hemet....valley full of smoke and low visibility....ash falling. Just heard activity on CDF vegetation frequency. Per wildcat it started around 2 pm..

According to the news this morning the fire is 2 miles West of Palm Springs. The valley here is full of ash.... the weather calls for humidity and wind gusts this afternoon.

I am guessing he is referring to RRU 2. Since the Mountain fire started in SRA, RRU 2 was used. Once the fire hit FRA, freqs. were changed to BDF freqs.
