• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Well, what else needs be said....

But to keep it in the forum thread... I think we can almost be assured of a caravan coming from the airport today and quit a crowd in Lawrence. Lawrence PD will almost certianly be augmented by KHP this afternoon for the homecoming. Are they going to simulcast LPD onto the KSICS system?

If their communications are the same as Saturday night and Monday night all units downtown were on Douglas County GCOMM-5 talkgroup. Lots of traffic on KSICS for KHP units checking out and going 10-8 from Lawrence but no ops traffic.

Things sounded a little exciting down there last night! You had a hard time hearing the officers on the radio over the crowd noise- most traffic was yelling into the radio mic.

GO KU!!

I had to put up another antenna last night before the game hoping to pull in the festivites from Leawood. No luck with my 396 but the old Pro-95 picked it up just fine! Always amusing to monitor these historic events.
