Foyil fire reporting a car fire and air evac on the way. I don't know if air evac is going for the deputy or someone else.

From what I have been able to figure out the deputy had a wreck with a drunk driver. Foyil fire reporting a car fire and air evac on the way. I don't know if air evac is going for the deputy or the drunk.

Keep us posted Im away from my scanner and I know several RCSO deputies. Hopefully everyone is ok! If anyone gets a press release I'd like to know what happened.

This is going to be a very bad wreck. A car pulled out in front of the deputy. One fatality out of that car, and another one flown to Tulsa. The deputy went by ground ambulance to Tulsa, and his passenger is a fatality.

Did he have a partner, prisoner, or ride along?

Foyil (AP) - A fiery accident that involved a Rogers County Sheriff deputy's vehicle has left two people from Claremore dead, including one who was riding in the deputy's vehicle.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the accident happened at 10 p-m Friday on State Highway 66 near the community of Foyil.

Troopers say a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Doris McQueen was traveling westbound on a county road while one driven deputy Joe Batt was northbound on the highway, responding to a call.

The OHP report says McQueen failed to yield from a stop sign and pulled out in front of the deputy's vehicle, which struck her vehicle.

The deputy's vehicle caught fire and burned completely.

Doris McQueen died at the scene, while her passenger, 14-year-old Heather McQueen was taken by helicopter to Saint John's Hospital in Tulsa in serious condition.

A passenger in Batt's vehicle, 20-year-old Amanda Kelley of Claremore, also died at the scene.

OHP Trooper Betsy Randolph says Batt is at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa in fair condition with leg injuries.

I hate to see a loss of life that could have been prevented.

Those are some really dangerous blind intersections, especially around kongs korner. When I first started at OTEMS I got a good tour of that area and the "roller coaster" hills out around EW450 from 88 to 66.

The truth about the accident

I personally have known the victim and her family for over 20 years.
She was dropping off another child after a church affiliated activity she was not intoxicated. She was not a wrekless driver and their is question as to why the officer was going so fast. She will be missed unbelievably by those of us that know her and her daughters were her life. I don't want their to be some rumor that she was a drunk when I know for a FACT she never drank a drop of alchohol~

In my first post that I edited that night I stated that he might have got into a wreck with a drunk driver. What had actually happened was that he got into a wreck while going after the drunk driver. Sorry for any confusion.

The Accident

Its not that the deputy was driving too fast it was the fact that mcqueen ran a stop sign and HIT THEM the girl who died in the cop car was my cousin and if mcqueen would have stoped my 20 year old cousin would still be alive so dont start blaming the cops when they were only doing their job blame the person who actually caused the accident when they ran the sign... Amanda would still be here if not for that

Like I said before, it's sad because this could have been prevented.

My condolences to you as well. Is there any sort of fund that has been set up to send donations to the family(ies)?
