Doesn't appear RPD has switched over to digital yet per the database, so is there some reason why recently I haven't been able to pick up their radio traffic?

I'm on the ground floor of a building in downtown sac, getting some static on RPD Channel 1.

Just curious, how long you been having this problem?

make sure you have all of the freqs listed in the db in your scanner... they've been cycling their control channels lately, some of the db's frequencies for Roseville's trs are not listed as control channels

I haven't been able to hear them for some time now, as in months. I didn't change anything on my scanner and I have all the freqs listed, not just the one's marked as control channels.

my environment hasn't changed, ie I'm not any further away from Roseville than I was when I could hear them. That's what made me think they had switched something around.

Oh well, no big deal.

Just for the record, I am receiving Roseville TRS just fine. I have all 10 frequencies programmed. There is one frequency that is always scratchy (always has been) but the others are good. I pick them up on any of my 800MHz scanners with any of my antennas. Also, one of their freqs bleeds over onto Sac County car to car channel 5 on any of my 97s. So I know it has good strength. I am 10 to 15 miles from them.

Confirming these are the freqs and TGID's you guys have programmed??

FYI I am in North Elk Grove. But I think I should be able to hear them from here.

The frequencies you have are correct.
I also have TG 272 "PD 6" programmed. Most of the PD traffic is on PD1 or PD4.
I also have the FIRE TGs programmed.

I am in Fair Oaks, at about 300 ft above sea level. I have a good shot to Roseville, and as I wrote earlier, 867.78750 does come in a little scratchy. You must be at least another 10 miles south of me, and probably at least 200 feet lower as well. That just might be on the fringe for picking them up; especially if you are using an indoor rubber duckie antenna.

From downtown Sac ( near I-5 & j ) I can barely hear roseville, even on top of a parking structure, unobstructed. Take your scanner on a field trip and I bet it works.

Traveling west from Roseville, on flat land along Hwy 65, I've noticed the range doesn't stretch that far out.

Hitting Elk Grove, I would think it's a lucky catch.

Oh wow, Elk Grove eh? I'm surprised you ever heard RPD from there. I can get some broken transmissions from Rocklin PD while driving around EG, but never in my house. And I don't think I've heard a peep out of Roseville until I got to or beyond downtown Sac.

I easily pick up Rocklin and Roseville Fire (both VHF) from the eastern edge of Elk Grove (places further east from that have a higher elevation). But if I am down in that area I usually do not care about what is going on on Rosevile TRS. I'll check it out later and see what happens.

affirm on all these comments. The Roseville TRS only has one Tower. You're going to have a lot of issues recieving it with a rubber duck anywhere outside the immediate area.

you'll do much better with VHF.

I'm in Elk Grove too, East to be exact. I've never tried listening to Roseville, but I'll try tomorrow and see what I get.
as for Rocklin, I can hear Rocklin in Elk Grove about 85-90% of the time. At least this is how it is for me at my location.

I was unable to hear Roseville TRS in El Dorado Hills. I was able to pick up the Roseville and Rocklin VHF frequencies in Jackson. I'll also note that Jackson is at about 1000 feet elevation and I can receive a LOT from there including many bay area frequencies.... But Roseville TRS was not one of them.

I programmed Roseville's TRS into my 396, heard nothing. It won't even pick up the control channel...

With the right setup, I grab the Roseville TRS with about 80% decode from Yolo County.

It's definately out there.

do any of you fellow Elk Grove-ians pick up Lodi PD?

I was still unable to even after mounting a roof discone antenna. However, when I lived about 1/8 mile East of where I am now I could hear them with a rubber duck antenna.
