Has anyone successfully used a USB over Ethernet extender for SDR purposes? I've tried the VirtualHere (free) product with a Raspberry Pi and I can't get it to work. Looks like someone here on RR had this issue many years ago as well.
I've gotten as far as installing VirtualHere server on Ubuntu on the RPi3 B+, the Windows client sees it, Zadig installs the WinUSB driver, but neither SDR# nor DSDplus/FMP24 sees the USB stick. At first I thought it was a driver issue so I've even tried with and without the Osmocom drivers installed on the RPi.
Looking to use this in my attic for better reception and possibly over VPN for remote feeding while having low power consumption and cost (before anyone says just run a PC).
