I have a RS Pro-528 that i am programming with a PC using the Butel ARC433 programming for the RS Pro 433 / 528 and on this unit it does not recognize this scanner. It comes up with a error message and it will not up load or down load the information . I've have use this same program to program 4 or 5 other pro-528 without a problem .Any suggestion. Thanks for the help Steven

I am not familiar with that software, however, if it has port settings, that may be the problem. On Win96, I have to change the port settings when I use the software between the desktop and the laptop. I also have other transceivers/receivers that drive me crazy using other software designed for them. The problem is the port setting.

Pro-528

I've try several programming cables . I'm using the same setting as the other 4 or 5 Pro-528's that i've successfully program with this same computer ,program & cables. That's the puzzle . Is it possible that there a problem with the PC/ IF jack on this radio. I had no problem programming this radio by way of the key pad . I' ve program 60 plus Radio Shack Scanners and some Bearcat Scanners and many brands of two way radio's also and my PC
( Toshiba Tecra 8200 ) has not let me down . Again thanks for the help Steven

I am trying to program a Pro 528 with the Butel 433 but it will not communicate with the scanner. I am trying to confirm the scanner communication setting, but after pressing Menu, I do not see Settings...only options of beep, autolit, p-onlit, dat A-5, b-save and sig-st. Any idea how to get to settings so I can get to pc control and check the baud rate also? thanks

I use ARC433 with a 433 and 528 all the time and have no trouble between the scanner and software. Click on Pro433/528 in the menu , click read or send and this will bring up the Comm ports, the comports that are available will be in green, those not will be in red. If you do not the proper drivers for your cable installed you will not have the green.

Ok, however in your software it says:

How to Check Scanner Communication Settings:
- Switch On Scanner
- Press MENU
- Scroll to SETTINGS
- Press E
- Scroll to PC CONTROL
- Press E
- Select 57600 bps or 115200 bps
- Press E
- Press MENU triwe to leave menu
- Press software AUTODETECT button

I am sure my cable is good as I get "wired" when I plug it into the scanner. However I do not see "settings" as an option and then get to PC Control.

The RS # is 20-047. If you have installed the drivers off the CD that came with the 20-047 and checked the device manager for what comm port your USB serial port is using, then you should have no trouble after choosing the correct Comm port in ARC 433.

Are you sure you use ARC433 V1.0 ? That message is only shown in our Uniden software.
