well, I hate to bring this up again, but after a day of doing direct comparisons, RS scanners DO have better ears, especially on 800Mhz, than Unidens.
In fact the PRO-97 is one hot receiver, and my old PRO-2053 is unreal. I am sitting here listening to trunked systems that my 796D can't even hear with an outside antenna! (NJSP from Nassau County NY, and yes my Unidens are programmed properly, they work fine in NJ, but just don't have the ears of the RS scanners).

Flame suit on!

While I agree the Pro-97 is HOT on 800 MHZ, some of the older RS scanners are pure junk. For instance, the Pro-92 is ABSOLUTELY DEAF at 800 MHZ. I have one and have compared it to about a dozen others that were equally deaf! The Pro-94 was "OK" at 800 MHZ but still not as hot at the Pro-97, which IS my "main scanner" these days.

Yes, the PRO-92 was horrible, as was the 2067. The PRO-94 is actually a Uniden scanner.
The 97 is HOT, but the old 2053 (same innards as the PRO-93 and PRO-95) is amazing. It gets my distant 800Mhz system with the built in tele antenna, don't even need th 800Mhz duckie!

A discussion about different scanners, that is the purpose of this forum.

Your message sounds like you're cutting down Unidens by saying how much better RS scanners are.

I don't see any benefit to this forum by your post. It might not be interpreted as offensively in the RS scanner forum, or even in the General Scanning forum.

The description of this forum is "A forum for the discussion of all Uniden scanning radios and receivers." Other than describing Uniden scanners in a negative way, your post doesn't have anything to do with them.

And you are the forum police? You are here to protect Uniden from "defamation". If you know of some Uniden scanners that are more sensitive, post the info. That is what we are here for.

If you don't like my "offensive" post, don't read it.

Ask a mod to move the thread, take a deep breath and everything will be okay.

No, but I am. The only purpose that I can see in your posting this in the Uniden forum was to invite a confrontation; you were successful. Since that is not the purpose of any forum on this site, this thread is closed.
