I have a Nooelec dongle that I have set up with SDR Trunk and decided to add one of the newer V4 RTL-SDR Blog Dongles from Amazon. When I first set up the Nooelec, I just loaded SDR++ and it found the drivers and everything worked.

I've read there are some potential driver issues with the V4, and before I get it, I just wanted to ask what is the proper method to set up the drivers for it? Do I need to download some special drivers, or is there something out of the ordinary I need to do to make the drivers work?

Newer releases of sdrtrunk will have the correct .dll , when you get the rtl-sdr blog v4, you will need to run zadig (once) to install the correct system driver.

Yes. I had to re-install Windows 11 Pro in my VM and tried running my v4 with SDR Console and it would not work, then remembered this tip.

I downloaded and ran zadig and all was good. Thanks for the reminder @PDXh0b0!
