• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I keep getting a runtime error when attempting to connect to any of the scanner feeds. The error states, it's a Microsoft Visual C + + Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe This application has requested the runtime to terminal in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. I have a laptop with Intel 3.2 processor, 1 GB ram. Win XP Pro SP3, IE8, Lastest updates, latest Java, Media Player 11. This is the same as my desktop and it runs just fine. Any Help ????

Runtime error

With IE8, I've had similar problems. Try checking to see if your in "Compatible Mode". Tools > Compatibility
Just a thought, IE8 is sensitive with Visual C+ compatibility.
