So, forgive my ignorance, but since this is local to me I figure I should learn more. Ive always just monitored analog standard transmissions - what is involved in monitoring an LTR system? I know you have Control Channels, thats the LCNs above I believe. What else do I need to know, and how do I go about monitoring this setup?

LTR can be monitored in conventional mode, the only downside is your scanner won't display the talkgroup so you won't know who's talking. There is no control channel, because all the trunking data is subaudible (kind of like a CTCSS tone). Most systems have most of the talkgroups default to a home channel (aka home repeater). For instance the RTA bus talkgroup on this system has home channel #03, so you should be most likely to hear RTA buses on 464.60 (LCN 03). Then if another radio on a different talkgroup keys up (whose home repeater is also LCN 03) the system will say "LCN 03 is busy, Goto LCN x instead" and they will show up on another frequency.

To program LTR on a Uniden, basically just set the trunking system type correctly and program the frequencies in LCN order (so the LCN 03 frequency goes in the Ch 03 frequency slot). Do a forum search, see the LTR forum, the Uniden forum and the LTR system wiki page for more info.

No one spoke up so I've deleted the old system. Here are the old "Communications Enterprises" talkgroups, for reference:

Code:
0-01-002 A SLO Tran Bus SLO Transit Bus Operations Transportation
0-01-003 A SLO TranData SLO Transit Data Data
0-01-015 A Paratra01015 Paratransit Transportation
0-01-017 A RTA Bus No RTA Bus Operations (North County, formerly CCTA) Transportation
0-05-015 A RTA SoCoSupv RTA South County Supervisor Transportation
0-05-016 A RTA Bus So RTA Bus Operations (South County, formerly SCTA)

[Rather than forget this info I thought I'd stick it in this group for future
recovery: for reprogramming the HomePatrol / Scanners.
